Gonna pump this out before the actual announcement in order to get those sweet, sweet early clicks. I don’t have ads or anything, but the hit counter on my WordPress dashboard is directly tied to my sense of self-worth.
Thanks to some very good reporting at SimsCommunity, we now have official information on ‘The Sims 4: Island Living‘. It doesn’t look like a vacation pack, but something more along the lines of City Living, StrangerVille or Island Paradise, where Sims will be permanently living in the titular world.
But what’s most interesting to me, is the mention of mermaids. One is even featured on the key art.
Grant Rodiek once responded to a question I fielded him on Twitter, telling me that the move away from including a new supernatural life state was intentional, and that he feels that the change frees them to do more interesting things with new life states, as was shown with The Sims 4: Vampires. So it’s rather a nice surprise to see a new life state chucked into a new expansion again. Especially since Vampires was released over two years ago now.
I didn’t play with Island Paradise much, as it fell during a time where I was significantly burned out from The Sims 3, so I’m looking forward to being able to play around with mermaids in The Sims 4. I love weirdness in my Sims games and god knows I’ve been feeling starved by The Sims 4.
Happy birthday to me indeed.
